First day of Kerala adventure travel, The idyllic Munnar hills is set at an altitude of 6000 ft above sea level in the Western Ghat ranges of Kerala. It is rich in Shola forests and has several trekking trails for the adventurists that run through its thick vegetation amid gurgling streams and deep valleys. We will trek from Chinnakanal to 1600 m high Anaerangal. You will trek through long winding lanes and rolling hills with bluish tint of Neelakurinji and hurling waterfalls. You may come across indomitable elephant herd on the way and the soul searching wind and playing mist that you will come across your trek will leave you mesmerized and awe inspired. Top Station is another vintage point in Munnar region that offers breathtaking view of the Munnar delights. Overnight stay will be in a camp at Munnar during Kerala adventure travel.
Second day of Kerala adventure tour, Meeshapulimala is the second highest peak of Western Ghat mountain ranges in South India after Anamudi. It lies within Silent Valley and has an elevation of 2640 m (8661 ft) above sea level. We will unveil the hidden beauty of the valley during our trekking expeditions. Our expedition will start from base camp in Rhodo (or Rodo) Valley which is 15 km from Munnar. We will trek through 09 rolling hills, the last one being Meeshapulimala. We will have panoramic view of Anayirankal Lake and Suryanelli town on the way of Kerala adventure tour. You can also spot Nilgiri Tahr and elephant herds during your trekking in Kerala. You will pass through high altitude tea estates and thick vegetation. From Meeshapulimala, you will be able to view Anamudi Peak and if mist permits, you will also be able to have a majestic view of Kodaikanal Hills in Tamil Nadu. Overnight stay will be at Anaerangal Camp.
Anaiyirangal Camp is situated near Papathy Shola (Butterfly Forest) facing the picturesque Anaerangal Lake. Butterflies from nearby regions migrate en-mass near the lake during the months of October and November. We will start our trekking from the camp and pass through cardamom and tea estates during Kerala adventure travel. The natural scenic beauty of the trek will be simply amusing. We will follow the Sunset Trek to "Phantom's Head Peak" from where you would be able to have a fabulous view of the romantic sunset against the backdrop of Sahyadri Mountains. Overnight stay will be at Anaerangal Camp which has facilities like luxury cottage tents, large windows, soft mattresses and luxury cottages with large cots.
Thattekad is a good destination for eco-adventure trip to Kerala. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary is prime attraction of the town. The region's lowland tropical forest is home to more than 275 species of birds like Crimson-throated Barbet, Hornbills, Sunbird etc. Thousands of birds flock Periyar River which will provide you a good visual delight. You can watch here birds in their natural magnificence and pristine glory. We will enjoy Kayaking in Periyar River. The beautiful Periyar Lake is a favorite destination of tourists and we will enjoy boating in the lake.
