The Indo-Portuguese Museum was established by the erstwhile Bishop of Kochi, Late Dr. Joseph Kureethra. And this museum is situated in Fort Kochi, within the premises of the Bishop's House. The main intent of this museum is to preserve and showcase the cultural heritage and Portuguese influence. The Altar, Treasure, Procession, Civil Life and Cathedral are the five main sections of this museum. The sculptures and antique items displayed at this museum is associated with the history of the Catholic Church. A piece of the altar made of teak wood (16th century) and Portuguese Monstrance (18-19th century) belonging to the Church of Our Lady of Hope, Vypin, Processional cross from Santa Cruz Cathedral, Fort Kochi (17th century) and Chasuble from Bishop's House, Fort Kochi (19th century) are some of the highlights of this museum.
